HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC RAP STUDENT
The Conseil scolaire Centre-Est is proud to highlight Alexis for her success in the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP).
Her journey began when CAREERS visited her school — a presentation that sparked an opportunity now shaping her future. Today, Alexis is completing her placement at SMR Diesel Trucks as a Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice, where her ambition is clearly matched by skill.
Her employer shares: “Alexis has shown exceptional growth. She is hardworking, eager to learn, and not afraid to take on challenging tasks. One of the biggest strengths she has demonstrated is her ability to work independently — she can tear down wheel ends and suspension, troubleshoot wiring, oil changes and complete service with 22 point inspection on trucks and service small utility trailers. It’s impressive for someone at her level.”
Alexis now encourages other students to explore RAP and take advantage of the opportunities it offers.
