Programs
The CSCE offers francophone education programs from preschool to Grade 12, as well as Early Childhood Services, designed to support children and their families at every stage.
Preschool and Kindergarten
4-5 year olds
Morning preschool and full-time kindergarten are available at all of our schools. Taught entirely in French, both programs include free school bus transportation, making the journey to and from school simple and convenient for families.
Elementary
Grades 1-6
All CSCE schools offer Grades 1 to 6 in French, providing students with a supportive and engaging learning environment. Guided by dedicated teachers and a high-quality curriculum, students build confidence, develop essential skills, and reach their full potential. They also learn English as a first language starting in Grade 3.
Secondary
Grades 7-12
Grades 7 to 12 are offered at four CSCE schools, where students benefit from a diverse curriculum, specialized services, and meaningful learning opportunities. High-quality French-language instruction prepares them for success in post-secondary education, skilled trades, or the workforce.
Riding with Prudence
First time riders initiation program
Riding with Prudence is a school bus orientation program for preschool and kindergarten students and their families. Through an informative presentation and a guided bus ride, first-time riders learn about school transportation in a fun, supportive environment before the first day of school. The program is offered free of charge annually before the start of the school year.

Student Guidance
and Engagement
The Student Guidance and Engagement Counsellor helps students prepare for life after high school by supporting them in planning their future. Students receive guidance in selecting the courses required for their chosen post-secondary program and can gain valuable hands-on experience through Work Experience and RAP programs while earning high school credits. The counsellor also organizes post-secondary campus tours, connects students with local employers, and provides support with résumé writing and scholarship applications.

The CSCE offers a settlement support service to help welcome new families and ease their transition into the school and the community.
Nutrition
Program
The CSCE uses funding provided by the Government of Alberta to support school nutrition programs. Based on the needs of each school community, students may have access to healthy snacks and hot meals.
Sports
The CSCE offers a wide variety of individual and team sports starting in elementary school, encouraging students to stay active, develop new skills, and experience the joy of being part of a team. Throughout the year, students can participate in competitive sports, special events, and active experiences such as swimming lessons, ski days, and the Terry Fox Run. Outdoor play is also encouraged during recess and physical education classes, where students enjoy activities like soccer and baseball while building healthy habits and having fun. Students in Grades 7 to 12 also have the opportunity to represent the CSCE at exclusive francophone sporting events, such as Les Jeux Francophones de l’Alberta.
Arts
CSCE students have many opportunities to explore their passions, develop new skills, and express their creativity. From music and the arts to leadership, technology, and hands-on projects, our programs allow students to learn, create, and discover new interests throughout their school journey.
