Staying home when sick can significantly reduce outbreaks and decrease disruptions to learning that occur when large numbers of students and staff at a school become ill. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Practicing proper <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/myhealth.alberta.ca\/health\/pages\/conditions.aspx?Hwid=tv7076spec\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">handwashing<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, using hand sanitizer when washing is not possible, avoiding sharing of food and beverages, and coughing and sneezing into your elbow or away from others, can also help reduce the spread of illness in our schools.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Information about common minor illness and injury in children can be found on the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.albertahealthservices.ca\/info\/page12422.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Alberta Health Services HEAL website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including information about the causes, symptoms and home management options for minor illnesses and when to seek medical care. The content comes from experts at Alberta\u2019s Children\u2019s Hospital and Stollery Children\u2019s Hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our schools are cleaned on a daily basis.
